RELEX Group Celebrates Its 23rd Anniversary

On July 2, 2013, RELEX, one of the leading Russian software development companies, celebrated its 23rd birthday.

Since 1990, the startup company “Relational Expert Systems” founded by talented and devoted software programmers has gone a long and difficult way to become RELEX Group, the independent developer of the Russian DBMS Linter and regional leader of application development.

Traditionally, RELEX summarizes its activities over the last business year, marking the key events:

• The RELEX team successfully finished a project of great social significance not only for our region but also for the entire country. The information system “Victims of political repressions in the Voronezh region” was created. This Web application was developed for the Voronezh Regional Archive of Social and Political History.
• RELEX won the open contest held by the Moscow Regional Ministry of Economy and delivered a license package for DBMS Linter Bastion. Thus, over the last year, the Moscow Regional Government acquired over 100 licenses for using the Russian database server in government projects.
• RELEX Scientific Research Center, part of RELEX Group, became a resident of Skolkovo Innovation Center. As part of Skolkovo project, the company plans to conduct research and development work on creating a new Linter-based product line.
• RELEX won the open auction held by the Primorsky Federal Supervision Agency for Information and Communications Department. As a result, a contract has been signed for using the secure DBMS Linter Bastion in regional projects.
• RELEX and Voronezh State University reached an agreement to open a Research and Education Center based on the Applied Mathematics and Mechanics Department of the VSU. The main purposes are to create a database technology competencies center in Voronezh, to unite science and business and to stimulate the research and innovation activities of students.имулирование инновационной активности и научной деятельности студентов.

Over the 23 years on the IT market, the RELEX team has implemented hundreds of projects for businesses and government organizations. Among the customers of RELEX are companies from Russia, the USA, Canada, Germany, Japan etc. The software developed by the RELEX team is used in accounting, warehousing, SCADA, airborne control computers, anti-virus software, electronic document management systems etc.

By tradition, the anniversary of RELEX was celebrated at one of the camping sites near Voronezh. “Persistence, bravery and true love for programming, our lifework, are in the genes of RELEX Group, passed on from generation to generation and inherited by our new employees from the group of programmer friends who founded RELEX back in 1990”, - says Igor A.
