The 8th Voronezh Industrial Forum started with the report by Alexey Fedosov (ASKON) and Vitaly Maximov (RELEX) at the round-table discussion “Information Technologies in the Industry of the Region: Experience, Issues and Prospects” held by the Voronezh Regional Department of Communications and Mass Media. Both speakers mentioned the high dependence of the Russian industry on imported software, and gave examples of successful import substitution with Russian counterparts, including DBMS Linter. In addition, they identified some characteristic problems encountered by the RELEX and ASKON teams in import substitution projects. During the discussion, representatives of various companies expressed their interest in migrating their information systems to domestic platforms.
