RELEX Programming School – 2011

April 18 through 22, RELEX Group supported by the Applied Mathematics and Computer Science Departments of the Voronezh State University will hold the 4th spring session of RELEX Programming School.

RELEX Programming School-2011 will include reports by the leading specialists of RELEX Group and invitees on diverse topics: 3D images, computer games, applications for iPhone, SemanticWeb technologies, and IT project management.

«3D Scanning of Faces»

The report focuses on active and passive technologies of stereophotogrammetric 3D scanning of faces, by example of the system developed by the author. Optic triangulation principles and reflection power of materials used in the methods developed will be discussed. Special attention will be devoted to the tendencies and prospects of 3D scanning.

«Development of Computer Games»

The lecture is devoted to the development of computer games, the history of this development sphere, the current situation in the industry and its future prospects. Technical and management aspects of development (work planning, development team building, division of responsibilities, tools used, the role of programmers in the creation of computer games, development of program modules) will be discussed. Special attention will be devoted to the internal architecture of game projects.

The lecture focuses on the main stages of application development for iOS: Apple rules for third-party iOS developers; preparations for creation of the first application; developing a simple application for iOS; creating the graphic interface using Interface Builder; testing and publishing the application at App Store.

The key features and methods will be described, comments will be given, and issues hindering the practical use of SemanticWeb will be pointed out.

The lecture focuses on project initiation, defining the budget, scheduling the work, and managing the project implementation. Special attention will be devoted to important administrative and economical aspects usually left out of the training courses for technical specialists.
